• Insulin: Glargine

  Insulin glargine is an injectable medication used in cats, dogs, ferrets, guinea pigs, and horses with diabetes mellitus. It is used to lower blood sugar levels and for long-term maintenance therapy of diabetes mellitus. Monitor closely for signs of low blood sugar (weakness, lack of energy, lethargy, stumbling or difficulty walking, behavior changes, muscle twitching, seizures, and/or unresponsive).

• Insulin: Lente

  Lente (porcine zinc) insulin (brand names Vetsulin®, Vetpen®) is an injectable medication approved for use in cats and dogs with diabetes mellitus. It is used to lower blood sugar levels and for long-term maintenance therapy of diabetes mellitus. This medication may be used "off label" or "extra label" in ferrets. Monitor closely for signs of low blood sugar (weakness, lack of energy, lethargy, stumbling or difficulty walking, behavior changes, muscle twitching, seizures, and/or unresponsiveness).

• Insulin: NPH

  NPH (Neutral Protamine Hagedron) insulin is an injectable medication used in cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, and horses with diabetes mellitus. It is used to lower blood sugar levels and for long-term maintenance therapy of diabetes mellitus. Monitor closely for signs of low blood sugar (weakness, lack of energy, lethargy, stumbling or difficulty walking, behavior changes, muscle twitching, seizures, and/or unresponsiveness).

• Insulin: Protamine Zinc

  Protamine zinc (PZI) insulin (brand name Prozinc®) is an injectable medication approved for use in cats and dogs with diabetes mellitus. It is used to lower blood sugar levels and for long-term maintenance therapy of diabetes mellitus. This medication may be used “off label” or “extra label” in other species. Monitor closely for signs of low blood sugar (weakness, lack of energy, lethargy, stumbling or difficulty walking, behavior changes, muscle twitching, seizures, and/or unresponsiveness).

• Isoxsuprine

  Isoxsuprine is a vasodilator that relaxes blood vessel walls outside of major organs. It has been used to help treat frostbite in birds and in certain conditions in dogs. It is used “off label” or “extra label” in animals. Isoxsuprine comes in tablet and powder forms. Avoid use in animals who have recently given birth or have bleeding.

• Ketoconazole Otic

  Ketoconazole otic is an antifungal used in the treatment of external ear infections (otitis externa) caused by yeast in cats, dogs, and other animals. Ketoconazole otic comes in ointment or liquid drop suspension forms that may be specially compounded and/or combined into a formulation with other medications.

• Ketoconazole Topical

  Ketoconazole topical is an antifungal used in the treatment of skin infections caused by fungal organisms in cats, dogs, and other animals. It comes in a variety of forms that may be specially compounded and/or be combined with other medications.

• Leflunomide

  Leflunomide is an immunomodulating agent used to treat certain immune-mediated conditions in cats and dogs. It is used off label (extra label) in veterinary medicine. Leflunomide comes in a tablet form that may be specially compounded into a liquid. Wear gloves when handling and do not handle if pregnant or nursing.

• Lotilaner

  Lotilaner is used to treat and prevent flea infestations and treat and control tick infestations in dogs and cats. After being administered to a pet, lotilaner is distributed throughout the body. When fleas or ticks bite the dog or cat, they are exposed to the drug and killed during their blood meal.

• Miconazole Otic

  Miconazole otic is an antifungal used in the treatment of external ear infections (otitis externa) caused by fungal organisms in cats, dogs, and other animals. It may be specially compounded and/or combined into a formulation with other medications. Miconazole otic comes in ointment or liquid drop suspension forms that may be specially compounded.
