  • Pramoxine Topical

    Pramoxine topical (Comfort; Micro-Pearls Advantage Dermal-Soothe®; Pramox-1®; Relief®, others) is a topical anesthetic (numbing agent) used to reduce pain and itching temporarily in cats, dogs, and other animals. It comes in a variety of forms that are applied directly to the skin.

  • Praziquantel/Pyrantel Pamoate

    Praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate (brand name Drontal) is an oral antiparasitic drug used to treat and control hookworms, roundworms, and tapeworms in cats and kittens that are at least 8 weeks of age and weigh at least 0.9 kg (2 lb), and in dogs and puppies that are at least 12 weeks of age and weigh at least 2.7 kg (6 lb). Praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate comes in tablet form.

  • Praziquantel/Pyrantel Pamoate/Febantel

    Praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel (brand name Drontal Plus) is an oral antiparasitic drug used to treat and control hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, and tapeworms in dogs and puppies that are at least 3 weeks of age and weigh at least 0.9 kg (2 lb). Praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel comes in tablet form. It may be used “off label” or “extra label” in other species (not recommended in cats) for certain conditions.

    A pre-visit pharmaceutical (PVP) is a medication or combination of medications given before a veterinary visit to reduce fear, anxiety, or stress associated with a veterinary visit. There are many different medications and medication combinations. Your veterinarian can provide the best recommendation for your dog.

  • Prednisolone Ophthalmic

    Prednisolone ophthalmic is a topical steroid medication used to treat inflammatory eye conditions in cats, dogs, and other animals. Prednisolone ophthalmic is available as a sole agent or in combination with antimicrobials. It may be used “off label” or “extra label” to treat other eye conditions. Prednisolone ophthalmic comes in ointment and liquid drop form. Avoid use in animals with viral or fungal infections, corneal ulceration, and birds.

  • Pregabalin

    Pregabalin (brand name Lyrica®), is an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain medication. It is used to treat refractory or complex partial seizures and chronic neuropathic pain in small animals. It has been used to treat other types of pain in cats and dogs. It is used "off label" or "extra label" in animals. Pregabalin comes in capsule or liquid suspension form.

  • Pro-Pectalin

    Pro-Pectalin™ is a digestive health and probiotic supplement used in cats and dogs. It contains kaolin, pectin, and probiotic bacteria to help maintain a balanced microbial flora, promote intestinal health, and support normal digestive function.

  • Proparacaine Ophthalmic

    Proparacaine ophthalmic is a topical anesthetic (numbing agent) used in the eyes before diagnostic procedures and as an adjunctive anesthetic for eye surgeries in cats, dogs, and other animals. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine and comes in a liquid drop form.

  • Psyllium Combination Supplements

    Psyllium combination supplements (e.g., DiaGel®) are used in cats and dogs to help control diarrhea and constipation. They contain psyllium seed husks and other natural products that help restore normal bowel movements. Psyllium combination supplements come in powder and liquid gel form (pre-measured syringes).

  • Psyllium Fiber Capsules

    Psyllium fiber capsules (brand name Vetasyl®) are fiber supplements used in cats and dogs to help promote bowel health. Vetasyl contains psyllium seed husks and barley malt extract powder contained in gelatin capsules.
