  • Spinosad (brand name Comfortis®) is an antiparasitic used to kill adult fleas and to prevent and treat flea infestations in dogs and cats. It may be used off label (extra label) to treat other parasites and in other animals. It comes in an oral tablet form.

  • Spironolactone + benazepril (brand name Cardalis®) is a combination aldosterone antagonist (spironolactone) and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor or ACE inhibitor (benazepril) used to treat certain types of congestive heart failure in dogs. Use to treat other heart conditions or in other species is "off label" or "extra label". Spironolactone + benazepril comes in chewable meat-flavored tablet form.

  • Spironolactone + hydrochlorothiazide is a combination aldosterone antagonist (spironolactone) and thiazide diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide) used to remove excess fluid and salt from the body in cats and dogs. This medication can be used in combination with other drugs to lower blood pressure and for protective effects on the heart muscle. It has also been used in dogs with fluid-up in the abdomen due to liver failure.

  • Sulfur, precipitated, topical (brand name Sulfodene®, others), is a medication used in the treatment of seborrheic (dry or greasy dandruff) disorders in cats and dogs to dissolve skin flakes and scales. It can have antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic effects. It may be specially compounded and/or combined into a formulation with other medications.

  • Tafluprost ophthalmic is a topical medication used to reduce intraocular pressure (pressure within the eye) in dogs with glaucoma. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine. Tafluprost ophthalmic comes in liquid drop suspension form.

  • Terbutaline is a bronchodilator used to treat symptoms of asthma and other respiratory conditions in cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and other animals. It is used off label (extra label) in veterinary medicine. Terbutaline comes in tablet form that may be compounded into liquid.

  • Timolol ophthalmic is a beta-blocker used to reduce intraocular pressure (pressure within the eye) in cats and dogs with glaucoma. Timolol ophthalmic is also used to prevent glaucoma in the normal eye of an animal with unilateral (one-sided) glaucoma. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine.

  • Tobramycin ophthalmic is an antimicrobial medication used to treat eye infections in cats, dogs, and exotic companion animals. Tobramycin ophthalmic comes in ointment and liquid drop suspension form. Caution when using this medication in pets with kidney disease and/or glaucoma. Do not confuse this medication with combination products containing tobramycin and a steroid.

  • Topiramate is an anticonvulsant used to treat refractory seizures in dogs. It may be used to treat seizures or feline idiopathic ulcerative dermatitis in cats and refractory seizures in other animals, though little information on efficacy is available. It is used off label (extra label) in veterinary medicine. Topiramate comes in capsules, tablet, and liquid suspension forms.

  • Torsemide, also known as UpCard®CA-1, is a diuretic used to remove excess fluid (water) from the body. It is used in conditions such as heart disease and lung disease. It is conditionally approved by the FDA for use in dogs only. Torsemide comes in an oral liquid suspension form.
