• Meropenem

  Meropenem is an antibiotic used to treat multi-drug-resistant bacterial infections in cats and dogs, particularly infections caused by extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Its use in veterinary medicine is limited to susceptible infections with documented resistance to other antimicrobials. Its use is off label in veterinary medicine. Meropenem comes in an injectable form.

• Methionine

  Methionine (brand name Methio-Form) is a nutritional supplement used to make urine more acidic in cats and dogs. Urine acidifiers help manage certain types of urolithiasis (urinary stones). Methionine comes in gel, chewable, powder, and tablet forms. Monitor urine pH and seek immediate veterinary care if signs of Heinz-body anemia appear in cats (pale gums, red-brown urine, weakness).

• Metoprolol

  Metoprolol is a beta-blocker used to treat certain heart rhythm problems and hypertension (high blood pressure) in cats and dogs. It has also been used in the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in cats. It is used off label (extra label) in veterinary medicine.

• Miconazole + Chlorhexidine + Tris-EDTA Topical

  Miconazole + chlorhexidine + tris-EDTA topical (brand name MiconaHex+Triz®) is an antifungal and antimicrobial cleansing agent used in the treatment of surface skin infections and to enhance the effectiveness of other topical antibiotics in cats and dogs. It comes in spray, mousse, shampoo, and wipe forms.

• Miconazole Otic

  Miconazole otic is an antifungal used in the treatment of external ear infections (otitis externa) caused by fungal organisms in cats, dogs, and other animals. It may be specially compounded and/or combined into a formulation with other medications. Miconazole otic comes in ointment or liquid drop suspension forms that may be specially compounded.

• Midazolam

  Midazolam is a benzodiazepine used for its sedative, anti-anxiety, and muscle relaxant properties. It is primarily used as a sedative before surgery and to stop seizures. It is used “off label” or “extra label” in animals. This medication is a controlled substance primarily given via injection by your veterinary team, though it may be prescribed to your pet for intranasal or intrarectal administration at home.

• Mometasone Furoate + Gentamicin Sulfate + Clotrimazole Topical Ointment

  Mometasone furoate + gentamicin sulfate + clotrimazole topical ointment is a combination topical ear medication used to treat bacterial and/or yeast ear infections in dogs. It comes as a liquid suspension and is applied topically to the affected ear once daily.

• Moxidectin Injectable

  Moxidectin injectable is used in dogs to prevent heartworm disease and treat existing hookworm infections. It comes as an injectable medication which must be given by your veterinarian or a trained veterinary staff member, and provides protection for several months. Dogs should be tested for heartworm disease to ensure they are negative prior to using this medication.

• Moxifloxacin Ophthalmic

  Moxifloxacin ophthalmic is a topical antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections in cats, dogs, rabbits, and other animals. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine. Moxifloxacin ophthalmic comes in liquid drop suspension form.

• Mupirocin Otic

  Mupirocin otic, also known as pseudomonic acid A, is an antibiotic used in the treatment of ear infections. It is used “off label” or “extra label” to treat ear infections in animals. Mupirocin comes in ointment or liquid drop suspension forms that may be specially compounded.
